There are probably a dozen reasons why someone would want to run on a treadmill.  Some people may like to run indoors where they don’t have to deal with the outside element, where some people may want to run on a treadmill because of their time constraints or obligations.

While other people may like that treadmills aren’t as hard on your joints verses running on asphalt.  If you are one of those people, then you are in the right place.  Let take a look at and determine which treadmill has the best cushioning.

What Makes a Treadmill Have Good Cushioning?

When you say cushion, when referring to treadmills or other similar workout equipment you are talking about shock absorption.  Basically, it’s how much force you are putting on the belt of the treadmill and how much the treadmill is able to absorb that force.

The better the shock absorption, the better cushioning the treadmill has.  This means the better the shock absorption the less stress you will be putting on the joints of you legs and feet in general.

This is especially important for people who have had surgeries in these areas, people with arthritis, or people who have been running on asphalt all their lives and want a break from the constant stress they are subjecting to they’re body.

The Treadmills That Have The Best Cushioning

So now that you know what makes a treadmill with good cushioning let’s take a look at some of the best treadmills that have the best cushioning.  I’ll separate each treadmill by brand, then I’ll briefly talk about a specific treadmill that each brand carries that has the best cushioning.

NordicTrack

NordicTrack makes some of the highest quality treadmills that you can find on the market today.  But if you are specifically looking for a treadmill that has a good cushioning it’s the NordicTrack T Series Treadmills.

This series of treadmills has some of the best shock absorption belt functioning in the world.  Aside from the cushioning this treadmill is also quiet.  The good thing about most NordicTrack treadmills is that you can receive a lifetime warranty on the from of the treadmill and a 25-year warranty on the motor of the treadmill.

The cushioning on this treadmill has NordicTrack’s own technology called FlexSelct, which has some of the best cushioning on a treadmill.

The company Proform also makes some of the best treadmills on the market, especially their shock absorption abilities.  Proform also has its own cushioning technology and it’s called Proshox cushioning.

The treadmill that I recommend you take a look at is ProForm Performance 1800i Treadmill.  This treadmill has all the basic features that the best treadmills have, but also some of the advanced workout and fitness features that only a few treadmills have.
